I always had the utmost respect for his work and his approach to science. He had his own mind and opinion on things but would never dismiss, in my experience, the point of view of others. He came as an outsider to the institute and quickly brought so much desperately needed fresh input. His absence is a loss on a institutional, scientific and most importantly personal level. I will remember him well.
